Repairs Commercial Manager

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join Northamptonshire Partnership Homes as a Repairs Commercial Manager, taking responsibility for the commercial, contractual and financial management of its repairs and voids activity.
This is a hands-on commercial role, working closely with Repairs, Procurement and Finance to strengthen commercial controls, manage risk and ensure value for money across the service.

The role

  • Producing and managing Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs)
  • Managing contractual and commercial risk
  • Assessing and certifying contractor payment applications
  • Managing invoice approvals, final accounts and retention monies
  • Ensuring robust commercial management of subcontractors and the wider supply chain
  • Working with Procurement on frameworks, tenders and subcontractor appointments
  • Supporting repairs teams on contractual and commercial matters
  • Driving greater commercial control, efficiency and value for money

About you

We're looking for an established commercial professional who understands the realities of delivering repairs within a housing environment.
You will bring:

  • Proven Commercial Manager experience within a similar organisation
  • Housing or repairs sector experience, ideally within an ALMO or Housing Association
  • Experience using the National Housing Federation Schedule of Rates
  • Strong knowledge of contract management, including NEC and JCT
  • A good understanding of CDM and health and safety regulations
  • Strong financial, analytical and commercial skills
  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities
  • The confidence to work independently and challenge constructively when required
  • BTEC HNC/HND, degree in Quantity Surveying/Construction Management or equivalent

Membership of a professional body such as RICS or CIOB and change management experience would be advantageous.

Why this opportunity?

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys getting into the detail of commercial performance while also having the ability to influence how a housing repairs service operates.
