Key Responsibilities

  • Assess applications for home to school transport and determine eligibility in line with council policies and statutory guidance.
  • Review information received from parents, schools, EHCPs and other professionals to identify individual transport needs and any safety considerations.
  • Arrange suitable transport provision for SEND and mainstream students, ensuring services are safe, efficient and meet required standards.
  • Allocate students to transport routes and services, maintaining accurate records and passenger information.
  • Arrange and administer bus passes and travel support, ensuring timely communication with parents, carers and schools.
  • Work closely with schools, transport providers and internal departments to ensure transport arrangements are delivered effectively.
  • Respond to enquiries and resolve issues in a professional and customer-focused manner.
  • Maintain accurate databases, records and reports while complying with GDPR and safeguarding requirements.

About the Team

You'll be joining a highly supportive and collaborative team of around 18-19 colleagues who work closely together to deliver a vital service across the county. This is a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same, and teamwork, attention to detail and excellent communication are key to success.

The Perfect Candidate Will:

  • Have experience working in a fast-paced administrative, planning, logistics or transport environment.
  • Be highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Have the ability to analyse information from multiple sources and make informed decisions.
  • Be confident managing a busy workload and prioritising competing demands.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills when dealing with parents, schools, transport providers and colleagues.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Understand the importance of safeguarding, confidentiality and GDPR compliance.
  • Enjoy working collaboratively as part of a supportive team.
