Admissions Caseworker
Location: Hybrid - onsite days based in Civic Centre, Walsall Town Centre.
Rate: £14.82 per hour PAYE / £20.10 per hour Umbrella
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm (flexibility around working hours available)
Contract: Temporary, 12 months with potential for extension
Start Date: 2nd November 2026
The Role
Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our Client, Walsall Council, on a temporary basis. We are currently recruiting for an Admissions Caseworker to join a busy and supportive team on a temporary basis for an initial 12-month assignment, with the potential to extend.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator or caseworker with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied caseload while delivering a high standard of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and process admissions applications in line with relevant policies, procedures and statutory requirements.
- Assess and verify documentation and supporting evidence.
- Maintain accurate records and case management systems.
- Respond to enquiries from parents, carers, schools and other stakeholders via telephone, email and written correspondence.
- Provide clear advice and guidance regarding admissions processes and procedures.
- Monitor cases and ensure deadlines are met.
- Prepare reports, correspondence and case documentation as required.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to support service delivery.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience within administration, casework, education admissions, customer service or a similar environment.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience handling sensitive or confidential information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise effectively.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
