Business Support Officer - Family First Team
Location: Hybrid working - onsite days based at Walsall Civic Centre.
Pay Rate: £14.82 per hour PAYE
Contract: Temporary, 6 months initially with potential 3-month extensions
Hours: 37 hours per week
Working Pattern:
- Monday to Thursday: 8:45am to 5:15pm (1-hour unpaid lunch break)
- Friday: 8:45am to 4:45pm (1-hour unpaid lunch break)
The Role
Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our Client, Walsall Council. We are seeking an experienced and organised Business Support Officer to join the Family First Team on a temporary basis. This role will provide administrative support to the Group Manager and wider Business Support Team, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Group Manager and Family First Team.
- Manage diaries, appointments, and meeting schedules.
- Monitor and manage a general team mailbox.
- Respond to telephone and email enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Book rooms and facilities for meetings, events, and training sessions.
- Send meeting invitations and coordinate attendance on behalf of the Group Manager.
- Maintain accurate records and update internal systems as required.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, and other documentation.
- Support the wider Business Support Team with general administrative duties.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in an administration, business support, or office support role.
- Strong diary management experience.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience handling multiple priorities and working independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- A professional and proactive approach to work.
