About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced SEND Reviews Team Manager to join a Local Authority on an interim basis. This role will provide additional management capacity within a busy SEND service, supporting the delivery of key improvement priorities while ensuring statutory responsibilities are met.
The successful candidate will lead and support a developing SEND Reviews Team, driving performance, strengthening practice, and improving outcomes for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
Day Rate: Up to £400 per day
Contract: Interim
Start Date: ASAP (within 2 weeks)
Working Arrangement: Hybrid (1 day per week onsite preferred) | Fully remote also will be considered
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the SEND Reviews Team, providing day-to-day operational oversight and support.
- Drive the successful delivery of Phase Transfers, ensuring statutory deadlines are achieved.
- Improve the timeliness and quality of amended Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Support service improvement activity to enhance performance and compliance.
- Strengthen communication and relationships with families, schools, and education settings.
- Reduce complaints and improve the overall customer experience.
- Monitor performance and ensure statutory duties are delivered effectively and consistently.
- Support staff development, workforce performance, and quality assurance activity.
- Requirements
- Significant SEND management experience within a Local Authority setting.
- Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, the SEND Code of Practice, and statutory processes.
- Experience managing SEND Reviews, EHCPs, and Phase Transfer activity.
- Proven track record of service improvement and performance management.
- Ability to lead teams through periods of change and improvement.
