Registered Building Inspector

Opus People Solutions are hiring for a Registered Building Inspector within a Local Authority client based in Shropshire.

The role is 37 hours per week, offering hybrid working with a mixture of home working and site attendance, and £50 per hour umbrella, with a contract length of 6 months+.

Please see a high-level overview of what the position involves below:

• Undertaking plan checking and plan assessments for a range of building projects
• Carrying out site inspections to ensure compliance with Building Regulations and associated legislation
• Working across domestic, commercial and more complex developments
• Providing Building Control advice to applicants, agents and stakeholders
• Supporting enforcement activities relating to the Building Act 1984, Building Regulations, dangerous structures and demolitions
• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring statutory deadlines are met
• Working collaboratively within a high-performing Building Control team

The ideal candidate will have experience with:

• Registered Building Inspector status with the Building Safety Regulator at a minimum Class 2D level
• Full membership of MRICS, MCABE or MCIOB
• Extensive Building Regulations knowledge and practical application
• Full plan checking and site inspection experience
• Building Control experience across a range of construction projects
• Strong communication, organisational and IT skills
• Previous experience within Local Government
