About the Role:
Based at West Bridgford Infant School, NG2 6DB, you will be working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 06:00 to 10:00 and 15:00 to 18:00, 52 weeks per year. You'll play a key role in supporting the delivery of an effective caretaking service, ensuring the site remains safe, secure, clean and well maintained for pupils, staff and visitors.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the delivery of an effective caretaking service in line with the agreed contract specification and service level agreement
- Opening and securing the school premises, including alarm management and building security
- Carrying out routine health and safety checks and promoting a safe working environment
- Undertaking basic maintenance and repair tasks
- Monitoring the condition of the building and grounds
- Supervising site operations and contractors where required
- Supporting and developing cleaning colleagues based on site
- Managing the safe storage and use of cleaning chemicals, equipment and electrical machinery
- Completing site administration, including timesheets, holiday forms and health and safety documentation
- Ensuring the school site remains clean, safe and welcoming
- Reporting maintenance issues and hazards promptly
Who are we looking for?
- Previous site supervision, caretaking, facilities or maintenance experience is desirable
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Good communication and problem solving skills
- A proactive and reliable approach to work
- An understanding of health and safety requirements
- Experience supervising or supporting colleagues is desirable
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- A team player providing an excellent service across the Vertas Group
- The ability to adapt and respond to change in a growing organisation
