North Northamptonshire Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Rough Sleep Support Worker to join their team on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of homelessness and rough sleeping services who is passionate about supporting vulnerable individuals within the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage directly with rough sleepers through outreach and support activities across North Northamptonshire.
- Complete assessments and develop tailored support plans to help individuals access accommodation and specialist support services.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, external agencies and partner organisations to achieve positive outcomes.
- Undertake occasional out-of-hours outreach work as required.
- Identify, manage and escalate safeguarding concerns and risks appropriately.
- Maintain accurate case records and reports in line with service requirements.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience supporting rough sleepers and homeless individuals.
- Good understanding of homelessness legislation and associated support services.
- Knowledge of safeguarding principles and risk management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Enhanced Adult DBS clearance.
