Housing Options Officer
East Suffolk (Predominantly Remote)
£22.20 PAYE / £30 Umbrella per hour Inside IR35
ASAP Start | Contract until 31st January 2027
We're recruiting for an experienced Housing Options Officer to join a Local Authority Housing Needs team.
This role will focus on providing housing advice, preventing homelessness, assessing homelessness applications, and making statutory homelessness decisions in line with Part VI and Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
Requirements
- Previous Local Authority Housing Options/Homelessness experience
- Experience assessing homelessness applications and writing homelessness decisions
- Strong knowledge of Parts VI & VII of the Housing Act and the Homelessness Reduction Act
- Experience managing complex caseloads
- Working knowledge of Civica systems
- Excellent communication and case management skills
Working Arrangements
- Mainly home-based
- Equipment provided
- Occasional face-to-face team meetings
- Office locations in Lowestoft and Woodbridge if required
