Are you passionate about maintaining safe, secure, and welcoming environments? Vertas is looking for a dedicated Caretaker to join our Facilities Team.

About the Role:
Based at Bramcote Hills Primary, NG9 3GE, you will be working 17.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 15:00 to 18:30, 52 weeks per year. You'll play a key role in ensuring the site remains safe, secure, clean and well maintained for pupils, staff and visitors.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Opening and securing the school premises as required
  • Carrying out routine health and safety checks
  • Undertaking basic maintenance and repair tasks
  • Monitoring the condition of the building and grounds
  • Supporting contractors and site visitors when required
  • Ensuring the school site remains clean, safe and welcoming
  • Reporting maintenance issues and hazards promptly

Who are we looking for?

  • Previous caretaking, site management or maintenance experience is desirable
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Good communication and problem solving skills
  • A proactive and reliable approach to work
  • An understanding of health and safety requirements
  • A team player providing an excellent service across the Vertas Group
  • The ability to adapt and respond to change in a growing organisation
