Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join its Adult Social Care team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional with a strong background in reablement and promoting independence for adults within the community.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Occupational Therapy assessments for adults with a range of needs.
- Promote independence and wellbeing through person-centred interventions.
- Assess, recommend and implement appropriate equipment and adaptations.
- Support individuals through reablement pathways to maximise independence and reduce ongoing care needs.
- Review existing care packages and identify opportunities to improve outcomes and enhance independence.
- Work collaboratively with service users, families, carers, health professionals and partner agencies.
- Contribute to safe and effective moving and handling assessments and plans.
Essential Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
- HCPC registration.
- Previous experience working within Adult Social Care.
- Experience supporting reablement and rehabilitation-focused interventions.
- Proven experience of reviewing care packages and implementing approaches to reduce reliance on care services.
- Experience of reducing moving and handling requirements, including implementing single-handed care practices where appropriate.
- Strong assessment, communication and case management skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
