About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and reliable Facilities Management Assistant to join our team. This is a varied, hands-on role responsible for helping maintain a clean, safe, compliant, and well-organised site environment.
The successful candidate will support the day-to-day operation of the building through maintenance activities, compliance monitoring, client interaction, conference room setup, and general facilities support. This role would suit someone who enjoys a practical working environment and takes pride in delivering excellent service.
Location: 1 Avenue Road - Aston Birmingham, B6 4DU Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm (30-minute unpaid break)
Key Responsibilities
Site & Car Park Management
- Monitor and manage car park usage to ensure safety and efficient operation.
- Assist with traffic flow and resolve parking related issues.
- Report and manage parking concerns in line with site procedures.
Maintenance & Facilities Support
- Carry out basic maintenance tasks and minor repairs across the site.
- Identify, report, and escalate larger maintenance issues promptly.
- Liaise with contractors and assist with organising site visits and bookings.
- Support the scheduling and completion of reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.
Cleaning & Site Standards
- Undertake window cleaning and litter picking duties.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping throughout the site.
- Complete routine cleaning audits and site inspections.
Conference & Meeting Room Setup
- Prepare meeting rooms and conference facilities for daily use.
- Set up furniture and equipment to meet meeting and event requirements.
Portering Services
- Assist with the movement of equipment, furniture, and deliveries across the site.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Conduct routine health and safety inspections.
- Report hazards, defects, and compliance concerns.
- Promote and maintain safe working practices at all times.
Customer Service
- Act as a professional and approachable point of contact for clients, visitors, and contractors.
- Respond to queries promptly and deliver excellent customer service.
Additional Duties
- Support other operational and facilities requirements as directed by management.

- Exposure to multiple aspects of facilities management and site operations.
- Occasional early starts or late finishes to meet business requirements, with advance notice provided.
- Outdoor duties undertaken in varying weather conditions.
