Procurement Consultants (3 Positions)
Location: Hybrid / Flexible Working
Contract: Initial 6-Month Contract
Rate: Up to £500 per day (Outside IR35)

We are currently recruiting for three Procurement Consultants to join a high-performing public sector procurement team on an initial 6-month contract basis.
Working alongside technical subject matter experts, you will lead and manage end-to-end procurement exercises, ensuring compliant, commercially robust, and value-driven outcomes. These opportunities offer the chance to work on a varied portfolio of projects while supporting key stakeholder groups across the organisation.
Opportunities Available
We are seeking:
- 1 x Social Care Procurement Consultant (Adults, Children's Services, and Public Health)
- 1 x ICT Procurement Consultant
- 1 x Generalist Procurement Consultant
Key Responsibilities
You will provide procurement expertise across the full procurement lifecycle, including:
- Leading pre-market engagement activities
- Advising on appropriate routes to market
- Developing procurement strategies and supporting governance approvals
- Supporting the development of procurement documentation
- Acting as a critical friend during specification development
- Designing commercial models and pricing schedules
- Supporting the development of technical evaluation questions and weightings
- Managing procurement exercises through the Council's eTendering systems (Delta/Mercell)
- Managing supplier communications and market engagement
- Handling procurement clarifications
- Facilitating competitive dialogue processes where required
- Managing evaluation activities and moderation sessions
- Supporting award recommendations and governance approvals
- Assisting with contract mobilisation and handover activities
About You
We are looking for experienced procurement professionals who can quickly build credibility and establish strong relationships with stakeholders.
You will demonstrate:
- Proven experience delivering end-to-end procurement projects
- Strong understanding of UK public sector procurement regulations and best practice
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
- Experience working collaboratively with technical and operational teams
- Strong commercial awareness and procurement strategy development skills
- Experience using eTendering platforms such as Delta or Mercell
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and project management capabilities
