Tree Inspector (Arboricultural Surveyor)

Walsall | Minimum 3 Days On-Site per Week
6-Month Contract
£16.36 PAYE or £20.78 Umbrella per Hour

We are seeking an experienced Tree Inspector to support the management of Walsall Council's tree stock and Urban Forestry programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections of the council's tree inventory.
• Assess tree risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
• Update tree management systems and records.
• Issue work orders to internal teams and external contractors.
• Support tree risk management, woodland surveys, and management plans.
• Provide arboricultural advice to stakeholders, colleagues, and the public.
• Ensure enquiries and urgent tree work requests are dealt with promptly.

Requirements

• Level 2 Arboricultural qualification or above (essential).
• Experience in tree inspection, arboriculture, or urban forestry.
• Knowledge of tree risk assessment and management.
• Strong report writing, communication, and organisational skills.
• Experience using tree management software such as Ezytreev or similar is desirable.
