About the Role

Opus People Solutions on behalf of Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking an experienced Team Manager to support its Assessment Service, while also providing management support across Family Support and Safeguarding teams as required.

Based at Awdry House, this is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and skilled manager to lead and support social work teams within Children's Services, ensuring high-quality practice and positive outcomes for children and families.


Hybrid Working - 3 Days per Week in the Office

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational and practice leadership within the Assessment Service.
  • Support Family Support and Safeguarding teams where service needs require.
  • Oversee case management, performance, and service delivery.
  • Ensure effective safeguarding practice and compliance with statutory responsibilities.
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and support to social workers and senior practitioners.
  • Drive high standards of practice, decision-making, and timely interventions for children and families.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to achieve positive outcomes.

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
  • Previous experience as a Team Manager, Assistant Team Manager, or experienced Senior Practitioner within Children's Services.
  • Strong background in Assessment, Safeguarding, Child Protection, and Family Support services.
  • Ability to lead teams effectively within a fast-paced statutory environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant legislation, safeguarding procedures, and best practice.
