About the Role
Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of Coventry City Council for an experienced Team Manager to join their Kinship Team.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop a dedicated team supporting children and young people through kinship care arrangements. The successful candidate will provide effective management, supervision and oversight of social work practice, ensuring high-quality assessments and positive outcomes for children and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support a team of social workers within the Kinship Service.
- Provide high-quality supervision, guidance and performance management.
- Oversee the assessment of prospective kinship carers and ensure assessments are completed to a high standard.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, legislation, policies and procedures.
- Drive excellent practice and support continuous improvement across the service.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, partner agencies and stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes for children.
- Monitor caseloads, performance and service delivery to ensure quality standards are maintained.
About You
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
- Significant post-qualified experience within Children's Social Care.
- Previous management or supervisory experience within fostering, kinship, permanence or looked after children's services.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and safeguarding frameworks.
- Experience of overseeing assessments and supporting social work practice.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions.
