Location: Shared Lives North, NNC Municipal Offices, Bowling Green Road, Kettering, NN15 7QX


Work pattern: 3 days a week, 18.5 hours

  • Monday: 9:30am - 4:30pm (6.5 hours, 30-minute unpaid break)
  • Wednesday: 9:30am - 4:00pm (6 hours, 30-minute unpaid break)
  • Friday: 9:30am - 4:30pm (6.5 hours, 30-minute unpaid break)



Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of North Northamptonshire Council for a dedicated and organised Business Support Assistant to join the Shared Lives North team.


This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator who enjoys delivering high-quality support, maintaining accurate records, and providing outstanding customer service. Working within a supportive team, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the service through the provision of efficient and confidential administrative support.

As a Business Support Assistant, you will support managers and colleagues by maintaining records and systems, handling enquiries, coordinating office resources, and ensuring information is managed accurately and securely.

In this role, your duties will include:

  • Providing confidential administrative support to managers and the wider team.
  • Maintaining accurate electronic and paper-based records and information systems.
  • Producing documents, reports, correspondence and other administrative materials to a high standard.
  • Managing and updating customer, staff and performance-related information.
  • Supporting financial processes, including maintaining accurate records and following established procedures.
  • Ordering office supplies and resources to support the effective operation of the service.
  • Managing diaries, arranging meetings and supporting scheduling requirements.
  • Responding to telephone, email and face-to-face enquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Providing reception support and acting as a first point of contact for visitors and callers.
  • Building positive working relationships with colleagues, customers, carers and external partners.
  • Ensuring compliance with data protection, confidentiality and relevant Council policies and procedures.

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in an administrative role, with excellent organisational skills.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and other business systems.
  • Highly accurate, with strong attention to detail.
  • Able to prioritise workloads and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • A professional communicator with excellent customer service skills.
  • Comfortable working independently while also contributing positively as part of a team.
  • Trustworthy and discreet when handling confidential information.
  • Knowledgeable of administrative processes, record keeping and office procedures.
  • Committed to equality, inclusion and delivering excellent service standards.
