SEND Business Support Officer - EHCP Team

Rate of Pay: £13.47 per hour PAYE

Working hours: 8.45am - 5pm Monday - Thursday, 8.45am - 4pm Friday's. 30-minutes unpaid break.

Hours per week: 37

Location: Remote

Duration: Temporary basis, 6 months.

Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our Client, Shropshire Council, for 3 SEND Business Support Officers on a temporary basis.

About the role

The EHCP Team is responsible for delivering the statutory duties relating to special educational needs and/or disability for children and young people aged 0-25 in Shropshire.

Are you organised, able to prioritise and manage a busy workload? We are looking for positive and motivated Business Support Officers to join the Business Support section of the EHCP Team.

This role will be providing high-quality administrative support to the EHCP Team and will involve:

  • Supporting the team to issue plans and meet statutory timescales in relation to amended EHCPs and annual reviews.
  • Liaising with parents, settings and professionals to issue plans and follow up with reminders.
  • Deliver high-quality and consistent customer service, addressing their questions, needs, concerns, and feedback in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Ensuring records are keep up to date and accurate.

About you

  • Previous experience of administrative work in a busy environment.
  • IT literate and confident in using MS365 Applications, including Teams, Outlook and Sharepoint.
  • Previous experience in a local authority and experience using Synergy CRM system is advantageous.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confident using IT systems and databases.
  • A team player with a flexible and positive approach.
  • Experience of working within SEND or a local authority setting is desirable but not essential.
