About the Role
Cambridge Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join the Multi‑Agency Safeguarding Hub. This is a key frontline role responsible for screening contacts, gathering information, and providing informed recommendations to safeguard children and families.
Working Arrangements: Hybrid 2-3 days in the office
Key Responsibilities
Screen incoming contacts and gather relevant information through discussions with parents, families, and partner agencies.
Professionally liaise with partners, professionals, and members of the public to ensure effective information sharing.
Provide clear, well‑reasoned recommendations based on risk assessment and legislative frameworks.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of the Children Act legislation and other relevant statutory guidance.
Apply thresholds effectively and understand case trajectories within children's services.
Work collaboratively with other teams and services to ensure the needs and safety of children are prioritised and supported.
Skills
Qualified Social Worker with relevant experience in a MASH
Strong assessment and analytical skills.
Confident communicator who can articulate recommendations clearly and professionally.
Solid understanding of legislation and thresholds relating to children and families.
Ability to work effectively with multi-agency partners to achieve positive outcomes.
