We are working with a council who are looking to bring on an Infrastructure & Service Delivery Lead for a 3 month contract initially. You will be required to be on site 1 day per week.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The role of IT and Digital Services Infrastructure & Service Delivery Lead is a senior hands-on position within the IT and Digital Services team delivering management and service activities in line with departmental standards, guidelines, defined delivery frameworks and operating practices.
The team uses its technical skills for the daily operational management, support, and development of the Council's infrastructure and software as well as leading and supporting a host of projects. Working closely with IT and Digital Services Team colleagues, system owners, users and other stakeholders, the Infrastructure & Service Delivery Lead will bring their management and technical knowledge to the implementation, deployment, and support of the team, department, and wider council.
Reporting to the IT and Digital Services Manager, the role is responsible for the delivery of the technical system administration, development, and procedural activities, along with the delivery of the business as usual (BAU) functions. There will be a requirement to plan and undertake project activities and to provide specialist advice across a range of areas and to a wide audience, from colleagues to stakeholders.
Due to the nature of this role, there is a requirement to be multi skilled, take a hands-on approach and whilst having core infrastructure skills also have good management skills and an interest in the developer technical space. Key attributes for the infrastructure and security skills will be:
Infrastructure Experience & Knowledge
- Knowledge and experience in a wide variety of server, storage and backup hardware and software platforms.
- Knowledge and experience of data (LAN, WAN, VLAN and Wireless) networks and voice networks
- Infrastructure software administration
- Infrastructure security design, administration, and monitoring
- Cloud services design, support, and administration.
- Database administration and support.
Service Delivery Experience & Knowledge
- Experience in leading an organisation's Service Desk function and the operational elements of Service Delivery, including the formation of processes and documentation for operational tasks.
- Experience at building and maintaining a team that delivers at the highest level of customer service, productivity, and technical proficiency.
- Experience in supporting, mentoring, and managing a team, helping them to develop their technical and customer service skills.
- Represent excellence in service delivery, performance, and technical ability.
- Experience in setting and monitoring appropriate KPI's to demonstrate team performance and provide reports for the IT & Digital Services Manager and service managers.
