About the Role

Northamptonshire Children's Trust is embarking on an ambitious journey to transform the way support is delivered to children and families. We are seeking a passionate and strategic Programme Manager to lead the Families First Partnership Programme and drive forward key elements of the national Children's Social Care Reforms.

In this pivotal role, you will define, develop, and deliver major projects that shape the future of Family Help and children's social care across the county. Working alongside practice leads and safeguarding partners, you will help design new approaches that strengthen families, protect children, and lead to improved outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Leading with purpose alongside practice leads, using programme management expertise to deliver, monitor, and develop the Families First Programme.
  • Shaping transformation by co-designing and testing new models of support with partners, embedding family?centred and evidence?informed practice.
  • Building strong partnerships and ensuring the voices of Family Help and children's social care services are central to all programme activity and decisions.
  • Driving excellence, supporting quality and performance, and ensuring inspection readiness across services.
  • Ensuring children and families actively shape the services that impact their lives.
  • Producing clear, impactful reporting for senior leaders and contributing to regional and national learning within the Families First Partnership.

About You

  • Advanced knowledge of business processes, business improvement and programme management, gained through a degree or equivalent management experience.
  • Significant experience applying project management frameworks, service improvement tools, and change methodologies within children's services.
  • A strong understanding of the Families First Programme and wider national reform in social care.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with confidence presenting to senior stakeholders and building trusted partnerships.
  • Proven experience leading, managing, and coaching diverse project teams to deliver sustainable improvements.
