Northampton Children's Trust is seeking an experienced and motivated Supervising Social Worker to join our Post Approval Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to support and supervise our valued foster carers, ensuring children and young people receive high‑quality, stable care.
About the Role
As a Supervising Social Worker within the Post Approval Team, you will:
- Hold a caseload of approved foster carers, offering regular supervision, support, and guidance.
- Contribute to the Duty system, working closely with the Placements Team to identify and support appropriate foster placements for children.
- Undertake assessments to understand the needs of children, young people, and their families.
- Visit foster carers, children, and families, providing advice, support, and targeted interventions.
- Complete direct work with children and families to build strong, effective relationships.
- Monitor, review, and evaluate the impact of your work to ensure positive outcomes.
- Carry out any additional tasks that support the safety, welfare, and well‑being of children in our care.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years post‑qualifying experience within an English local authority is essential.
- Qualified Social Worker
- Social Work England registration.
