Concertus is a multidisciplinary property and design consultancy known for delivering high-quality, sustainable building solutions, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our Building Services team.
Based in Matlock, you will play a key role in the design, delivery, and oversight of Mechanical / HVAC systems across a diverse portfolio of public and private sector projects throughout Derbyshire and surrounding areas, primarily within the Education sector.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Engineer looking to take ownership of projects from concept to completion, including site visits, design, and final sign-off.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of Mechanical / HVAC systems for building services projects
- Prepare and manage tender documentation
- Conduct site inspections, oversee installation, and ensure compliance with design specifications
- Sign off completed Mechanical / HVAC works and ensure quality assurance
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Architects, Electrical Engineers, and Project Managers
- Ensure all work complies with current regulations and sustainability standards
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a full-time Mechanical / HVAC Engineering role within building services
- HNC or higher qualification in Building Services Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary design team on both refurbishment and new build projects
- Experience working on Mechanical design within the Education sector
- Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and Mechanical standards
- Ideally having experience in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, MEP Worx)
- Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle (essential)
- Live within a commutable distance from Derbyshire
- Experience of working on projects within Local Authority would be advantageous
