About the Role
Walsall Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join the Disabled Children and Young People's Team on an agency basis to provide vacancy cover.
You will work with children and young people with disabilities and their families, undertaking statutory social work responsibilities and contributing to high‑quality outcomes within Children's Services.
Hours: 37 hours per week
Location: Hybrid - minimum 3 days per week in the office, flexibility agreed to meet service needs
Key Responsibilities
- Hold and manage a caseload within the Disabled Children & Young People's Team
- Complete assessments, care planning and reviews
- Undertake statutory visits and direct work with children and families
- Work collaboratively with multi‑agency professionals
- Maintain accurate, timely and high‑quality case records
Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
- Experience working within Disabled Children's Services
- Ability to work in a hybrid model, with a minimum of 3 days office‑based
- Driving licence required
- Strong assessment, recording and communication skills
