Role: Caretaker
Location: Firfield Primary School DE72 3EG
Hours: 18.5 hours a week (you will be working a split shift Monday&Tuesday 6am-9.15am and then 2pm-6pm, on a Wednesday you will work 6am-9am)
Salary: £12.41 per hour
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Caretaker to oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of our school. The ideal candidate will ensure that the environment remains safe, hygienic, and welcoming for all visitors and staff. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the upkeep of a well-maintained facility through diligent cleaning and general maintenance tasks. Prior experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services is highly desirable, though full training will be provided for the right applicant.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning duties across various areas, including offices, corridors, and communal spaces, maintaining high standards of hygiene and presentation.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment and supplies are well-maintained and stored appropriately.
- Monitor stock levels of cleaning supplies and notify management when replenishments are needed.
- Carry out minor repairs or report maintenance issues promptly to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organised storage area for cleaning tools and materials.
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently to prevent accidents or hazards within the premises.
- Support with setting up meeting rooms or event spaces as needed.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles is preferred.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Attention to detail to ensure thorough cleanliness across all areas.
