A newly forming public sector body is seeking a highly strategic Chief Finance and Investment Officer (S73) to lead its financial direction, investment strategy and commercial approach during a pivotal period of organisational set-up and transformation. This role will shape financial governance from inception and ensure long-term sustainability, resilience and value for money.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead financial strategy, planning and budgeting, including the Medium-Term Financial Plan.
Develop investment and commercial strategies that maximise financial impact.
Oversee financial governance, statutory S73 responsibilities and organisational controls.
Provide expert advice to senior leaders on financial risk, sustainability and strategic decision-making.
Manage assets and direct commercial development to achieve strong financial returns.
Build constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, funders and partners.
Identify financial opportunities, secure investment and optimise funding routes.
Support organisational development, ensuring agile, transparent and high-performing financial operations.
Candidate Requirements:
CCAB-qualified accountant with significant public sector financial leadership experience.
Strong expertise in investment, funding, commercial strategy and financial risk management.
Deep understanding of statutory finance, governance frameworks and complex funding landscapes.
Excellent communicator, influencer and collaborator with strategic leadership capability.
