We are seeking an experienced individual to front line manage sites and cleaning operatives. The ideal candidate will combine operational expertise with the ability to build lasting client relationships, manage contracts effectively, and identify opportunities for growth. A sound understanding of health and safety, people management, and service delivery is essential, alongside a proactive, customer‑focused approach.

Job Purpose

  • Manage commercial relationships with customer organisations using the Building Cleaning, Site Management, and Facilities Management services.

  • Retain existing business and drive growth through new opportunities in the Facilities Management sector.

  • Ensure services are delivered effectively, compliantly, and tailored to customer needs.

  • Provide leadership to operational staff, monitoring performance, attendance, recruitment, and morale.

  • Review and implement contract changes to meet budgetary requirements.

  • Cultivate strong relationships with key decision makers, working collaboratively to achieve high service standards.

  • Oversee third‑party contractors, ensuring quality, cost control, and risk management.

  • Manage service delivery, employees, and budgets against agreed targets.

  • Provide technical advice and support to customers and staff.

  • Lead recruitment, retention, training, and development of staff.

  • Contribute to business development, enhancing both value and quality of services.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Building Cleaning and Facilities Management functions.

  • Experience in contract/account management and best practice.

  • Understanding of marketing and promotion activities.

  • Relevant industry qualification (NVQ Level 3 or above, e.g., IOSH Health & Safety, City & Guilds in Building Cleaning Sciences).

  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations.

  • Skills in people, performance, risk, budget, and service management.
