Administrative Assistant

Pay: £13.47 per hour, 37 hours per week, Mon-Fri

Location: Corby, NN17 4SW, Office based only.

Length: 3 months

Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of North Northamptonshire Council for an experienced Administrative Assistant to join their Housing Property Services department to provide support with a range of administrative tasks.

As Administrative Assistant your typical duties would be:

  • Arranging meetings and maintaining electronic diaries and
  • Distributing post and maintaining an effective record keeping and filing system
  • Responding to standard correspondence, typing letters and other documents including telephone and e-mailing communications on behalf of Housing Property Services
  • Assisting with the production of regular monitoring reports, like progress with Council projects, budget monitoring, performance / management data, analysis of customer satisfaction and associated reports in time for monthly meetings
  • Utilising the inhouse computer systems to place orders, receipt goods and process sundry invoices. Checking of budget provision, relevant code and authority to spend on all orders and checking of receipt of invoice
  • Monitoring and responding to repair-related enquiries from tenants, residents, members, other council departments, suppliers and contractors
  • Assisting with workload during high-demand periods alongside existing Despatchers
  • Any other administrative tasks within the scope of this post.

We are looking for a clear communicator with a proactive, customer focused attitude, with experience of working in an office environment and carrying out a range of administrative tasks.

The perfect candidate will:

  • A quick learner with strong organisational skills
  • Collaborate well with others and be flexible in their approach to meet the demands of the post and team, working flexibly between depots as required
  • Be able to deal with confidential and sensitive information
  • Be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Understand and be able to comply with the Council's policies and procedures
