Location: Beeston, NG9 1LP
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30am to 1:30pm (Term Time Only)
Salary: £13.27 per hour
Contract: Permanent
Weekly Hours: 25 hours
Setting: Working within a school environment

We are seeking an experienced Head of Kitchen to lead the catering team at a primary school in Beeston. This role is vital in ensuring pupils receive healthy, balanced meals in a safe and welcoming environment. You will manage all aspects of the kitchen operation, from food preparation to compliance and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and serve nutritious meals in line with school menus and dietary requirements
• Supervise and motivate kitchen staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and health and safety at all times
• Monitor stock levels, order supplies and manage budgets effectively
• Complete daily and weekly records including temperature checks and cleaning schedules
• Liaise with school staff and catering management to ensure smooth service delivery
• Identify and implement improvements to enhance the catering provision

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in a catering leadership role, ideally within an educational setting
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a busy kitchen environment
• Excellent communication and team management skills
• Knowledge of food hygiene regulations and allergen management
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards
• Reliable, proactive and committed to providing quality service
• Must hold an Enhanced DBS or be willing to obtain one
