Vertas Group hosted a joyful festive celebration in Ipswich on Thursday, 18 December, bringing together more than 90 guests for an afternoon of warmth, connection, and community spirit.

The event featured a complimentary three-course Christmas meal, live music from a talented saxophonist, and a raffle with prizes generously donated by Vertas Group colleagues and suppliers. Guests were invited through local dedicated support teams, with a focus on individuals who may be vulnerable or spending the festive season alone. Transport was provided by Vertas’ fleet service to ensure everyone could attend.

Colleagues from across Vertas Group including Vertas, Concertus, and Opus People Solutions volunteered their time to make the day special. From preparing and serving meals to welcoming guests and clearing tables, the team worked together to create a smooth and memorable experience.

The celebration was funded through donations raised by Vertas Group colleagues, reflecting the organisation’s commitment to giving back and creating positive social impact. Putting people first is at the heart of Vertas Group’s values, and initiatives like this demonstrate our dedication to supporting the communities we serve.

Lee Johns, Head of FM, Vertas, said: “This event truly shows what can be achieved when we come together as one team. It’s about more than a meal; it’s about creating moments of joy and connection for those who need it most. I’m incredibly proud of our colleagues for living our values and making a real difference in the community.”

James Carr, Head of Social Care, Opus People Solutions, added: “Social care is about people, and this event reflects that perfectly. It’s wonderful to see organisations working together to support those who might otherwise feel isolated. The smiles and conversations we saw today are what make these efforts so worthwhile.”

One guest shared their gratitude: “I just wanted to say a massive thank you, it was such a lovely time and so much effort was put into it. The food was amazing and such lovely touches from the quiz to the free raffle. Well done to everyone involved. Thank you for the transport that was provided, it was spot on, especially with me bringing someone in a wheelchair. I couldn’t fault a thing.”
