Opus People Solutions is pleased to be sponsoring Local Government East’s flagship insights and training event Local Government Essentials East: Changing Landscape of Local Government on 19th May 2026.

Hosted by Local Government East and supported by Opus People Solutions and Government Commercial Agency, the event offers a chance for senior leaders from member councils to get ahead of the changes coming in 2026 and beyond, and connect and align with peers across the region. Opus will also be hosting a practical workshop on effectively using interim recruitment in times of change.

Legislative changes, operational pressure and fast‑evolving public sector environments are reshaping how councils plan, procure and deliver services. This event brings together thought-leaders and practitioners to share what’s changing, what good looks like, and what you can do next.

At Opus, we work alongside councils every day to strengthen workforce capability and deliver change at pace, often in high-pressure conditions. Sponsoring this event is part of our commitment to supporting public sector leaders with practical insight, market intelligence and solutions that work in the real world.

This event is designed for senior leaders from Local Government East member councils, including Chief Executives, Elected Members, Directors, Heads of Service, and senior leads across HR, finance, transformation and other specialist functions.

On the day, you can expect keynotes and briefings, practical workshops and the opportunity to network with peers across the region.

Attendees will benefit from:

  • Actionable insights to take back to their organisations and support upcoming change.
