LABC is the membership organisation that works on behalf of local authorities, providing the voice of public service building control to various government departments and industry partners.

LABC provides public sector building control with technical guidance, accredited education, performance standards and validation assessments for 3,000 surveyors and technicians working for local authorities across England and Wales. 

Following a successful recruitment of over 150 trainees, LABC is recruiting more Trainee Building Control Surveyors in multiple locations across England and Wales.

The LABC Academy Trainee Building Control Surveyor programme provides the perfect opportunity to earn while you learn. During the two-year programme you’ll gain a level 4 and level 5 diploma in building control surveying and earn the skills and experience required to become a Registered Building Inspector.

Alongside receiving education and training, LABC will employ you to work in a local authority near to where you live, allowing you to put your learning to the test in a real-world environment. You’ll be fully supported in your job by LABC, and you’ll have an experienced professional from the local authority to mentor you and provide practical on the job advice and training.

Throughout the programme, you’ll be paid a competitive salary, have your qualifications paid for and begin a career. Registered building control professionals currently earn between £40k and £80k depending on their experience, registration class and location.
