Opus People Solutions are delighted to be working exclusively with Rugby Borough Council to recruit a Chief Officer - Finance & Performance (Section 151 Officer).
This is a senior finance role with real influence. As Chief Officer – Finance & Performance at Rugby Borough Council, you’ll sit at the heart of how decisions are made, helping ensure the council remains financially sustainable for the long term.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will play a key role in guiding the Council through a period of change. The position requires a balanced approach, supporting organisational ambition while maintaining strong financial governance and will contribute to shaping the future direction of services, investment, and local government structures.
This is a comprehensive and strategically important leadership role, bringing together financial strategy, corporate performance and organisational change. It ensures that robust financial insight underpins decision-making, supports delivery of corporate priorities and informs major investment activity.
As the Council’s statutory Section 151 Officer, you will lead both the finance and performance functions, ensuring resources are effectively aligned to priorities and that services are delivered in a way that provides demonstrable value for money.
This role extends beyond traditional finance leadership.
You will actively shape the Council’s direction balancing opportunity with risk and ensuring every decision is underpinned by sound financial insight.
