Rate: £24 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract Type: Temporary
Working Pattern: Hybrid (Minimum 2 days in office per week)

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Personal Advisor to join our team supporting care leavers in Peterborough. This is a hybrid role based at Sand Martin House, with a minimum of two days per week in the office. Due to the nature of the role, additional in-person work may be required to support young people in the community and attend appointments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of care leavers in line with departmental policies and relevant legislation.
  • Work collaboratively with partner organisations to assess, plan, and deliver interventions.
  • Support young people in attending appointments and achieving independence.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records using manual and digital systems.
  • Attend and contribute to reviews, planning meetings, and case conferences.
  • Conduct home visits and meetings in various settings (e.g., hospitals, custodial units).
  • Assess financial needs and assist care leavers with budgeting and financial planning.
  • Plan and record Pathway Planning meetings.
  • Ensure safeguarding principles are upheld and concerns are reported appropriately.
  • Deliver services in line with the Children Act Guidance and local safeguarding policies.
  • Participate in supervision, appraisals, and ongoing professional development.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with care leavers or vulnerable young people.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and relevant legislation.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including occasional unsocial hours.
  • Excellent communication, assessment, and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in using case management systems and maintaining accurate records.
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and social justice.
