About the job

We are regularly recruiting for various non-qualified Social Care roles in multiple locations across Suffolk County Council.

Roles include Support Workers, Family Support Practitioners and YOS Practitioners.

  • Taking calls and completing referrals
  • Allocating cases to advisors
  • Arranging appointments and home visits
  • Administration duties including completing reports and casework files
  • Attending Youth Courts and providing court duty cover
  • Delivering Restorative Justice interventions
  • Offer services to young people and their carers including structured intervention programmes
  • Providing / contributing to an assessment of progress, strengths and risks remaining, recommendations for future planning
  • Liaising with families to cooperate and engage in intervention programmes
  • Previous experience in a Support Worker or Practitioner role is essential
  • Understanding the diverse range of needs of clients & backgrounds
  • Ability to use a range of assessment frameworks
  • Knowledge of associated agencies and their working practices and roles
  • Excellent customer service & communication skills
  • Ability to effectively apply solution focused approaches to deliver successful outcomes
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and guidance as appropriate to role

  • Holiday entitlement of up to 31 days per annum, pro rata (including bank holidays)
  • Permanent equivalent council pay rates offered after 12 weeks
