Opus East are currently seeking an Senior Recruitment & Retention Manager in the midlands area for an initial 6 month period.

To be the HR lead in ensuring that the recruitment strategy is innovative and effective in attracting, recruiting and retaining high quality, talented individuals.

 

The postholder will work closely with the Head of HR and OD, to design innovative recruitment solutions and deliver a proactive, fast paced recruitment service for qualified social work roles.  Working with partners, media and the recruitment industry to design and develop solutions that continually attract and retain candidates to key front line qualified roles.

  • Develop innovative and creative recruitment strategies to meet the requirements of the service and lead the implementation of the strategy in conjunction with the Head of HR and OD, ensuring working groups meet regularly and activities are owned, achieved and actioned.
  • Support the Head of HR and OD to deliver reporting and feedback to the leadership team, Members and Commissioners on vacancies, turnover, retention and exit interviews to reduce the reliance on agency workers across Children’s and drive service improvements.
  • Line manage the Recruitment Advisors.
  • Manage the implementation and delivery of the recruitment and retention action plan.
  • Support the Head of HR and OD to deliver reporting and feedback to NCT, Members and Commissioners on vacancies, turnover, retention and exit interviews to reduce the reliance on agency workers across the organisation and drive service improvements.
  • Lead the change of processes and procedures relating to recruitment to enable a streamlined responsive recruitment service for applicants.
  • Lead the creation of innovative recruitment solutions for the organisation, lead on the delivery of innovative recruitment campaigns.
  • Design and present a potential future recruitment service.
  • Work with partners, media and industry to ensure they are a competitive employer in today’s market attracting and retaining high quality candidates.
  • Development of robust financially sound business cases to support recruitment solution.
  • Lead the digital aspect of the recruitment function to ensure the local authority has a strong on line profile attracting the right candidates to the right roles.  Carry out benchmarking and research to provide recommendations on the attractiveness of the employee value proposition.
  • Working flexibly to provide specialist recruitment knowledge to support to a range of short and medium term projects as necessary.
  • Educated to a degree level or equivalent by experience.
  • Significant knowledge of effective recruitment principles and practices in hard to fill roles.
  • Excellent understanding of selection techniques.
  • Ability to identify problems, research and develop creative solutions.
  • Exceptionally organised with a high attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to positively engage with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience of working with senior managers and leaders.
  • Proven team worker with ability to motivate others.
  • Good customer care skills, including the ability to deal tactfully with complaints.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the safe working practices that apply to this role.
  • Ability to work in a way that promotes the safety and well-being of children and young people/vulnerable adults.
