About the job:

As a Senior Business Support Assistant, you will provide a flexible, effective and confidential business support service delivering to Children’s Social Care teams. You will provide a proactive and “forward thinking” approach to the role and encourage the use of technology and ensure requests for work to be completed are actioned by the Business Support Team in timescale and meet quality standards.

  • To provide an effective and efficient business support service. To ensure that the current
    Business Support processes reflect any change in legislation to meet statutory timescales.
    Delegate generic tasks to the Business Support Assistants and Apprentices. These tasks
    could include audio/copy typing, scanning/indexing documents, photocopying (not an
    exhaustive list). Ensure work produced by the Business Support Assistants and
    Apprentices meet the quality standards set for Business Support within agreed timescales
    under the guidance from the Business Support Manager/Deputy Manager.
  • Take minutes at all relevant meetings e.g. Child Protection Conferences, Fostering and
    Adoption Panels and other legal meetings. Ensure that membership meets the quorum
    necessary to conduct business by ensuring that members are available for agreed dates,
    and substitutes are available in case of sickness absence etc. This will include high level and
    complex minute taking. Ensure that reports are presented at Conference/ Panel in
    accordance with prescribed timescales. Taking responsibility for any business related
    actions/issues are fed back appropriately.
  • Support Heads of Delivery by delivering required level of support including acting as first
    point of contact, provide telephone call handing and email filtering. To assist in the
    planning and managing the diaries and activities of the Head of Delivery. Take notes at
    meetings chaired by the Head of Delivery.
  • Organise meetings and arrange venues for social work professionals. Assist with setting
    Agendas and distributing any reports in good time and provide appropriate information to
    those attending the meetings, ensure accurate records are maintained and follow up any
    resulting actions.
