About the role:

We’re currently recruiting for a Registered Manager with experience in Elderly Care, preferably with knowledge of specialist care and reablement services. Our client’s lovely home is looking to appoint a new manager on a permanent basis, to work along side a hard working, dedicated team of nurses, care assistants and other service staff. This home offers now only elderly residential care, but also specialist dementia services, and reablement placements.

This is a permanent position.

  • Manage the staff in the home, arranging rotas, appraisals, general supervision and recruitment
  • Coordinate staff training, ensuring support is in place for all staff
  • Comply with all relative legislations at all times, ensuring staff are also aware of their role in compliance
  • Take responsibility for the homes budget, ensuring money is allocated to different areas based in the company policy and size of budget available
  • Take responsibility for resources within the home, ensuring stock or resources are ordered in plenty of time, and that waste is kept to a minimum
  • Meet professional and legal responsibilities with regard to the storage, handling and administration of drugs, ensuring only trained staff handle medication
  • Communicate with and work effectively with all relevant external agencies and working professionals, to ensure care plans are adhered to
  • Ensure that data and storage systems within the home are effective, implementing new strategies and systems if they are required
  • Level 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care / Management
  • Extensive working knowledge of residential and specialist care processes relating to the elderly
  • Understand and be able to work to relevant legislations, such as CQC
  • Preferred experience relating to CQC inspections and audits
  • Experience handling a budget
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Ability to motivate a large team of staff
