About the job:

As a Programme Manager you will, manage and coordinate a programme multiple large scale projects on a day-to-day basis on behalf of the business, ensure that each project produces the required outcomes/products, to the required standard of quality and within the specified constraints of time and cost and ensure that benefits outlined in the Business Case are achieved.

  • To undertake the duties of a programme manager as set out in Prince 2 best practice project methodology.
  • To play a leading role in programme development, including responsibility for the maintenance of an effective programme management structure.
  • To be responsible for planning and designing the programme, and proactively monitoring its overall progress, resolving issues and initiating corrective action as appropriate.
  •  To provide overall leadership and direction for the programme team
  •  To ensure that there is efficient allocation of common resources and skills within the projects forming part of the programme.
  • To manage the programme budget, monitoring expenditure and costs against delivered and realised benefits as the programme progresses.
  • To manage third party contributions to the programme.
  •  To manage the communications with all stakeholders, including providing regular progress reports into the programme board.
  • To ensure that the communication processes are effective and linkages are maintained between the programme and the organisation’s strategic direction.
  • To manage both the dependencies and the interfaces between projects.
  •  To manage risks to the programme’s successful outcome, including the development of contingency and containment plans.
  • A degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • Proven ability to work with a variety of service providers, and match their needs and aspirations.
  • Excellent communication skills up to and including Board Level.
  • Proven ability to lead and work in a team as well as working independently.
  • Extremely well-developed negotiation skills, with the ability to motivate and influence senior level staff.
  • Experience of supervising, performance managing and motivating staf
  • Analytical thinking and problem solving at a detailed level
  • Experience of successfully managing £-multi million budgets.
  • Ability to travel
  • Right to work in the UK
