About the job:

In order to deliver an effective communications and marketing service for the Trust, there is a need to recruit an experienced Communications and Marketing Officer to work alongside the current Officer to ensure that a continued communication and marketing service is delivered for our client.

This will be a temporary position whilst work is undertaken to develop a new communications and marketing strategy, which will include the structure of the team needed to support the delivery of the strategy.

  • Work under the general direction of the Deputy Comms and Marketing Manager to create innovative communications, campaigns and social media content that help the Council meet its organisational objectives
  • Contribute to the development of internal communications and prepare content for internal channels
  • Identify positive activity in the council and the best way to share it with the wider public, partners and the media using all the publicity tools available, such as press releases and social media platforms
  • Analyse, review and report on communications activity to maximise results and report on the success of existing projects, content and campaigns
  • Respond appropriately to media enquiries, prepare press releases and arrange interview opportunities
  • Create dynamic written, graphic and video content that is suitable for various social media and other communication platforms
  • Edit and agree content for publications and digital content in line with the council’s policies
  • Ensure brand adherence in all council communications
  • Actively seek out examples of best practice in communications and keep up to date with the latest developments and trends in communications, public relations, marketing policy and practice and in the digital and social media landscape
  • To demonstrate awareness/understanding of equal opportunities and other people’s behavioural, physical, social and welfare needs
