An exciting and rewarding opportunity is available to work with a leading charity supporting young children and their families in the local area.

Our client is looking for an ambitious, enthusiastic and confident person to join their established passionate income generation team.

The ideal applicant will have excellent communication and written skills, be able to effectively complete fundraising applications, whilst maintaining and developing the charities established relationships. You will be focusing on working towards substantial fundraising targets by raising funds from statutory sources, trusts and foundations.

  • To maintain and develop new and existing funder relationships, ensuring donor stewardship is well maintained to a high standard
  • To regularly research potential funding opportunities in line with the charity’s aims and objectives, highlighting areas of potential development
  • To contribute to and build a pipeline of prospective fundraising opportunities
  • To write several high-quality funding applications, in a timely fashion and in accordance with funders’ specific requirements
  • Effectively manage mailing systems, send out letter and continue to build a pipeline of potential small trusts
  • To regularly write monitoring and evaluation reports for funders, working closely with service managers and the finance team to ensure accurate information is submitted on time and to a high standard
  • To provide generic content support for funding applications by maintaining accurate data files, libraries of service information, application templates and updated case studies
  • Work collaboratively with other departments
  • To keep up to date with relevant research documents and news articles that evidence a need for the charity’s work
  • Be responsible for keeping the income generation database up to take with funder information, ensuring all information is recorded accurately and in a timely fashion
  • To assist with all fundraising activities delivered by the income generation team as and when required
  • To attend fundraising events outside of normal working hours as and when required (time back in lieu will be accommodated)
  • To work with the charities mission and values and all policies and procedures, including safeguarding, equality and diversity, participation, quality and health and safety.
  • Previous knowledge of completing compelling fundraising applications
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships
  • Excellent writing skills- high level of literacy
  • Knowledge and experience of market research
  • Experience working within a Fundraising/Income Generation position
  • Experience recording and reporting information from databases
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Professional and positive approach
  • Maintain a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
