About the Job;

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual with a high quality IT background to role out this fantastic new job as a Digital Care Advisor within Suffolk County Council.

As a Digital Care Advisor, you will provide strong IT knowledge to support the role-out of research and development in care homes and care agencies. To enable the council to provide a more effective and efficient service.

You will be responsible for digital and technical projects running in your area, and will have a key relationship with technologists and suppliers. Consisting of:

  • Support the development of the Digital Care programme
  • Embed new practice, process and ideas with teams in your area, and relevant stakeholders
  • Act as a point of reference and support to those in your area around Digital Care
  • Work out of different offices regularly to ensure you are accessible and visible to all teams
  • Attend team meetings to provide updates, host workshops and deliver training as required
  • Provide technical support around solutions, and practice based support around eligibility, assessment and recording
  • Identify areas of opportunity to trial innovations by working with frontline staff and other stakeholders to understand problems
  • Lead on any identified trials, or ones funded in your area
  • Expert knowledge of Adult Social Care Services, practice and process.
  • Expert knowledge and experience in IT equipment and software.
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of the assessment, support planning and care management process.
  • Understanding of relevant Social Care legislation and its impact on social work practice (e.g. Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity 2005)
  • Ability to identify eligibility in line with current legislation and policy.
  • Proven experience and understanding of a person centred, enabling approach to working people to maximise their independence and wellbeing.
  • Evidence of being creative in meeting people’s needs to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Proven experience of understanding and utilising Signs of Safety.
  • Good knowledge of a broad range of Digital Care solutions and their application.
  • Proven ability to research e.g. medical conditions, new technologies
  • Confidence in being the “go to” person in your area for advice and guidance around all aspects of Digital Care (e.g. solutions, practice, funding)
  • You will have an ability to engage and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • An ability to manage and organise your own workload, an ability to collect and collate evidence and present findings as the subject expert are both key to this role.
  • Holiday entitlement of up to 31 days per annum, pro rata (including bank holidays)
  • Permanent equivalent council pay rates offered after 12 weeks
