About the job:

We’re seeking Covid-19 test site operatives across multiple sites in Cambridgeshire to be responsible for supporting the Covid-19 test unit through a range of duties on a rota basis including offering reassurance to the public, meeting and greeting of those to the site, recording of their details and cleaning of the site.

This is a customer facing role and the safety of the workforce and customers is the foremost priority for all Covid-19 testing operations; full PPE and strict infection control measures will be employed to always ensure a safe working environment.

Full training will be provided via a training/induction day prior to starting.

Locations include: Peterborough, Huntingdon, Cambridge City, Soham, Cambourne, Wisbech.

4 days on/4 days off shift pattern – 8.00am to 8.00pm:

  • Nene Valley Community Centre, Candy Street, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire PE2 9RE
  • St Mark’s, 2 Lincoln Road, Peterborough PE1 2SN
  • The Coneygear Centre, Buttsgrove Way, Huntingdon PE29 1PE
  • The Meadows Community Centre, 1 St Catherine’s Rd, Arbury, Cambridge, CB4 3XJ
  • Julius Martin Lane, Soham, CB7 5EQ
  • The Hub, High St, Cambourne, Cambridge, CB23 6GW
  • Queen Mary Centre, Queen’s Road,  Wisbech, PE13 2PE
  • Greet arrivals and provide reassurance.
  • Ensure social distancing and other government guidelines are observed, sanitising of hand and wearing of face mask as appropriate.
  • Direct the people to available testing stations and exits.
  • Communicate with the public through the arrival and testing process, providing reassurance as appropriate.
  • Ensure safe clinical measures including social distancing and donning and removing of PPE, of all times.
  • Ensure understanding of core end-to-end testing experience and support wider site operations as and when requested.
  • Understanding of the need to always maintain confidentiality.
  • Full understanding of how SMART mobile phone devices and other digital equipment and systems work used by the centre staff Able to converse with ease with members of the public/build trust and rapport in short space of time.
  • Provide effective help or advice in accurate and fluent spoken English.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment whilst maintain high levels of accuracy.
  • Must be able to work in a methodical manner, recording and inputting data whilst working in a mobile site accurately.
  • Ability to follow the strict guidelines and procedures required at all times.
  • Comfortable working in PPE.
  • Have some knowledge of infection control.
