About the Role:

We are seeking Covid-19 Site Testing operatives and Site Operatives for our new testing sites across Suffolk. You will be responsible for supporting the Covid-19 test unit through a range of duties on a rota basis. This is a customer facing role and the safety of the workforce and customers is the foremost priority for all Covid-19 testing operations; full PPE and strict infection control measures will be employed to always ensure a safe working environment.

Training will be provided online with the addition of 1 day where you will go on-site to learn how to manage the testing process from start to finish including swabbing yourself (which will need to be done daily).

Shift times will be to cover the core opening hours of 7am to 7pm with a degree of flexibility of shift times and duration within those core hours. We are looking to recruit to a minimum of 4 hour shift slots, with flexibility to work up to 8 hours as a shift.

The role of the COVID-19 Multi Skills Operatives will report into the site Team Leader.

This is a temporary job until March 31st with the possibility of extension.

  • Greeting of people arriving for testing and providing reassurance.
  • Ensure social distancing and other government guidelines are observed, sanitising of hand and wearing of face mask as appropriate.
  • Direct the people to available testing stations and exits.
  • Communicate with the public through the arrival and testing process, providing reassurance as appropriate.
  • Ensure safe clinical measures including social distancing and donning and removing of PPE, of all times.
  • Ensure understanding of core end-to-end testing experience and support wider site operations as and when requested.
  • Ensure social distancing is adhered at all time including; when people arrive, queue to be tested, carry out their test and on departure.
  • The need to work flexibly and provide support across different test site roles where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety on-site at all times.
  • Ensure registration details for individuals accessing the site are correct and entered on the system as required.
  • Receive, time, analyse, and read results of Covid-19 tests.
  • Enter the test result onto a digital or manual solution.
  • Guide individuals in how to self-swab, ensuring safe clinical measures are adhered to.
  • Ensuring members of the public accessing the site are enabled to remain within Covid safety measures, e.g. whilst queuing, entering and exiting the test site.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work flexibly, providing support across different roles where necessary.
  • Understanding of the need to always maintain confidentiality and compliance with information governance and data protection.
  • Awareness of safeguarding of adults and vulnerable people.
  • Good understanding of how SMART mobile phone devices/PC/Laptop and other digital equipment and systems work as these are used within the testing process.
  • Able to converse with ease with members of the public/build trust and rapport in short space of time.
  • Ability to give clear and concise instructions and ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Must be able to work in a methodical manner, recording and inputting data accurately whilst working in a site.
  • Ability to follow strict guidelines and procedures required at all times.
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, including physically standing for protracted periods and wearing of PPE.
  • Some knowledge of Health & Safety requirements.
  • Ability to keep calm under pressure.
  • Ability to learn new skills and implement safely and effectively.

 

  • Experience in clinical settings preferred but not essential
  • Experience in understand and following Standard Operating Procedures
  • Experience with data recording/entry – comfortable using digital technology to record results
  • Experience in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment
  • Experience working with members of the public/patients, preferably including crowd control
  • Experience working at events and leisure & hospitality
  • Comfortable working in PPE
  • Ideally able to travel to other sites if need arises (not essential)
  • You will need access to a PC/Laptop/Tablet to complete the online training.
