About the Job:

We’re currently seeking Covid-19 Community Testing Site Team Leaders to support Suffolk County Council in the regional efforts of the management of the Covid-19 pandemic.

As a Test Site Team Leader, you will be responsible for the overall on-site operations of a testing site, including oversight of initial site set up, delivery of testing services, ensuring adherence to clinical, health and safety standard operating procedures (SOPs) and day-to-day workforce management.

Training will be provided online with the addition of 1 day where you will go on-site to learn how to manage the testing process from start to finish including swabbing yourself (which will need to be done daily).

Vacancies are available at a number of test site locations across Suffolk.

This is a temporary job until March 31st with the possibility of extension.

  • Open and close the test site each day, including making the daily Go/No Go on testing operations.
  • Run day-to-day operations including on-site workforce management, managing site health & safety, monitoring, receiving and managing stock.
  • Point of escalation for any issues on site, escalates to local public health officials as appropriate.
  • Line management of Site Test Operatives.
  • Ensure all resources have arrived for shift and escalates no shows.
  • Cascades new information to all team members.
  • Ensures adherence to health and safety, SOPs and clinical guidance is maintained throughout operations, including adherence to Covid-19 infection prevention and control measures.
  • Responsible for the quality and risk management of the testing and regularly checking that the site meets the standards required.
  • Daily reporting to the QA and Training Manager of activity, positivity rates etc.
  • Have a positive ‘can-do’ attitude in the daily challenge of a fast paced, evolving and temporary service.
  • Understanding of the requirement for confidentiality, data protection.
  • Some knowledge of Health & Safety requirements.
  • Good understanding of mobile phone devices, use of Apps, Microsoft Office and other digital equipment and systems used by the centre staff.
  • Experience of managing operations in a customer facing environment.
  • Able to communicate clearly and sensitively with a wide range of people from the local population, some of whom will be nervous and anxious.
  • Experience leading a team, overseeing an operational workforce, day-to-day people management and scheduling workloads of team to deadline.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Problem solving skills with strong ability to make quick decisions.
  • Ability to keep calm under pressure.
  • Ability to learn new skills and implement safely and effectively.
  • Comfortable working in PPE
  • Knowledge of infection control advantageous.
  • Ideally able to travel to other sites if need arises (not essential)
