About the job:

We are currently seeking 2 x Clinical System Technicians to join a team within Northamptonshire County Council based in offices located in Kettering. The role will be an initial 3 month contract working 37hrs per week.

  • Provide support for a range of clinical systems, e.g. SystmOne Community, SystmOne Mental Health and Learning Disabilities, Civica EPMA.
  • To act as Registration Authority (RA) Agent, responsible for the issuance of Smartcards to health professionals, managerial and administrative staff, including the re-issue of lost cards ensuring all details are logged and audit trails kept
  • Ensure new users to the National Spine Portal appropriately understanding the system and confidentiality issues regarding use of a Smartcard; addressing any shortfall in knowledge and understanding of the end users
  • Provide 1st line clinical systems support when required and 2nd line support to end users via the local Service Desk.
  • Ensure changes to client data/end user data is updated onto the Service Desk System as soon as possible, when recognised.
  • To ensure that any information regarding changes to Clinical Systems is made available to the Service Desk Staff via the Service Desk Knowledge Base or similar means.
  • Responsible for maintaining Care Identity Service (CIS) access requests, i.e. user account details for clinical systems, also resetting passwords and unlocking user accounts, as necessary, ensuring clinical information systems are maintained to the highest level of data quality and accuracy of data collection, maintaining codes used within clinical systems, documenting all decisions and monitoring workload and workflow across the team.
  • Liaises with the National Service Desk and Systems Suppliers to report system issues and faults. Monitors and ensures resolution received.  Ensures end users are provided with regular updates and non-resolution of the incident or change request is escalated to relevant managers.
  • Monitors the data input to Clinical Systems, where appropriate, to ensure validity and accuracy. Where exceptions occur, the post holder will be responsible for communicating with end users, documenting the communication for audit purposes.
  • Responsible for amending standard reports available on the clinical systems, developing and testing new templates to aid data input and output and may be required to participate in user testing and deployment of software upgrades and amendments.
  • Ensure all office equipment is working correctly, including RA laptops and printers, and that there are sufficient levels of office supplies, e.g. printer and toner cartridges, paper, and back-up tapes where relevant.
  • Assists in the implementation and achievement of projects assigned to the team, from assisting with scoping, through to option appraisal, implementation, performance management and evaluation, including identifying any budgetary requirements.
  • Assisting in the development of robust service improvement solutions with managers and clinicians, through the analysis of data and/or other information sources. Also includes the implementation of policy within a specific area and proposing/contributing to policy development.

Excellent communication skills are required, together with RSA III or equivalent level of competency (advanced keyboard use). Previous significant experience in an administrative and/or data analysis role.
