About the job:

We are currently looking to recruit temporary support workers/ care assistants on behalf of Northamptonshire County Council to offer support to local care homes.

The ideal candidate will be compassionate, enthusiastic, kind and someone who loves working with the elderly.  We are looking for someone who can go into a residential care home with a smile on their face and light up the room for the residents who live there, someone who is passionate about assisting the elderly to go about their day.

There are many shifts available: early, late, waking nights and day shifts to suit your availability.

Shift times vary between homes.

Early shifts 07.30-14.30
Late shifts 14.30-21.30
Waking night shifts 21.30-07.30

*Night shift is £10.81ph, Sunday day is paid at £12.31 PAYE

  • Provide a personal care and support service, delivered in accordance with the agreed care plan and the appropriate policies and procedures.
  • Ensure clear, concise and accurate records are kept of all care and support provided.
  • Ensure changes in needs are reflected in care plans where required, and reviewed regularly by assisting Manager, Team Leaders & Night Seniors with recording of information.
  • Always being aware of health and safety and following the risk assessment to ensure tenants and carers safety and report any concerns to manager, team leaders and night seniors.
  • Other duties to be undertaken include may include tasks such as simple cleaning tasks, making meals, assisting residents to eat.
  • Focus on the dignity & respect of service users and in partnership with other agencies to provide an excellent person centred, individualised service.
  • Liaise with seniors/managers regarding any concerns you may have regarding the residents.
  • Work within a team environment providing excellent care and support.
