About the job:

We are regularly looking for business support officers to work within Cambridgeshire County Council.

The aim of this role is to provide administrative and secretarial support to teams within the council, in order to enable the council to deliver a customer focused service more effectively and efficiently.

  • Providing an effective and efficient business support service.
  • Delivering an efficient and customer focused service by processing and responding to incoming communication (post, phone, and emails), message taking, copying and distributing information as necessary.
  • Data input – attention to detail for accuracy.
  • Actively contributing to information systems offering a consistent service in relation to key information including accurate inputting of events to the Council’s database/spreadsheets in order to facilitate accurate reporting.
  • Data cleansing, and investigation.
  • Project work where required.
  • Working understanding of Windows & Microsoft packages (including: Word, Excel, E-mail, Power Point, Internet)
  • Understanding of requirement for confidentiality
  • Able to take accurately input data
  • Able to communicate effectively with others
  • Able to utilise IT systems to deliver services
  • Able to work flexibly to meet demands of service
  • Able to work with others to deliver services
  • Confident telephone manner
  •  Experience in a fast moving administration role is preferred, but excellent communication skills and a ‘can do’ attitude and willingness to learn are just as valuable.
  • Permanent equivalent council pay rates from commencement
  • Holiday entitlement of up to 31 days per annum (pro rata), including bank holidays
