Business Relations Officer

Opus Northamptonshire on behalf of North Northamptonshire Council is looking for a BRO to join Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) Team.

As a Business Relations Officer you will provide a high level of flexible support to the senior managers and colleagues as part of the Central Business Support Team supporting the Approved Mental Health Professional.

The role is office-based in Northampton and will go from temp to perm after initial 12 weeks.

Hourly rate negotiable dependent on experience.

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of business processes to support senior managers and the business support manager.
  • Arrange all aspects of internal, inter-agency and inter-departmental meetings as requested and minute meetings as required whilst maintaining a high degree of confidentiality for all information handled. Including AMHP forums.
  • Maintain information technology and office systems to ensure effective services including Microsoft office, North Northants systems, e-recruitment etc.
  • Assist in the recruitment process within the service when required and support with the maintenance of the establishment list for Adult Social Care.
  • Provide an efficient and confidential support service to senior managers.
  • Handle a wide range of more detailed queries including those regarding Mental Health Act enquiries/request for assessments. Supporting the duty system of the AMHP Team in office hours.
  • In cooperation with AMHP Team Manager and Senior Business Support Officer plan, co-ordinate and implement all aspects of AMHP assessment process.
  • Support with the co-ordination of Social Circumstance Reports within the AMHP and wider adult social care teams currently in the North and West Northamptonshire Councils and external agency/secondary services (NHFT).
  • Support with the co-ordination of Community Treatment Orders within the AMHP team and external agency/secondary services (NHFT).
  • Undertake Protection of Property Care Act 2014 to support the AMHP Team.
  • Develop knowledge of (Mental Capacity Act – Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and in the future Liberty Protection Safeguards) in its interface with the Mental Health Act.
  • Initiate and build good working relationships with colleagues and other professionals and external agencies to deliver the service required.
  • Gather data and financial information relating to the work area to support in the production of management reports and information on service performance to meet service area requirements.
  • Demonstrate awareness/understanding of equal opportunities and other people’s behaviour, physical, social and welfare needs.

Essential education and qualifications:

  • NVQ  Level  2 or equivalent in a relevant subject or experience in administrator work.
  • Ability to demonstrate good IT skills and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.

Essential experience:

  • Experience of working in a busy office based role.
  • Experience of finance and financial systems.
  • Demonstrate experience of arranging, supporting/undertaking minutes of meetings to a high standard, e.g. highly confidential HR meetings.
