About the job:

As an Administrator (Parking Services) for Cambridgeshire County Council through Opus Cambridgeshire, your key priority is to sort post and scan correspondence onto the IT system, Banking (mainly cheques/postal orders), Liaising with the Parking Services team, responding to customer feedback forms, using the internal IT system, handling confidential/sensitive data and entering this onto the system.

Parking services email inbox:

  • Check emails to be printed off and scanned
  • Respond to queries when required
  • Listen to voicemails and distribute accordingly
  • Liaise with Parking Control and other CCC departments to ensure accurate information is provided

Permit Printing:

  • Print all permits from the IT system in batches onto the secure stationary
  • Ensure all permits are correctly enveloped and where possible enclose multiple permits for the same applicant in one envelope
  • Check permits have been printed correctly


  • Gone aways / return to sender / VQ5’s / VQ616 documents / Double Jeopardy cases in Si-Dem system as required

Feedback forms:

  • Respond to the customer enquiry if able to deal with this
  • Update spreadsheet
  • If unable to deal with forward this out to appropriate staff member

Post to be opened:

  • Sort into piles (Bus Lane Hires, Bus Lane Reps, On-Street reps, On-Street hires and general)
  • Scan onto Si-Dem if a rep received
  • File away in the correct folders

Cheques to be processed:

  • Ensure amounts are correct for each case (adjust if needed)
  • Make sure address details are added on when batching the payments
  • Ensure batch payment is added on Si-Dem
  • Write on post it note total cheques for that date and store in correct plastic wallet in cash tin
  • Process general correspondence:
  • TEC letters – put on hold (Si-Dem/enforcement agent depending on form received)
  • Permits – scan and email to Permits inbox
  • Refund requests – complete where possible or scan/email to NPPO


  • Process all cheques/postal orders
  • Record amount of cheques/postal orders to be allocated to each Cost Code
  • Raise an LGSS Direct request for the lodgement to be processed
  • Record amount banked on spreadsheet as required


  • Process all refunds as outlined within the procedure for PS
  • Where unable to process pass to a NPPO
  • Update all spreadsheets as necessary

And any other duties that may not be listed here, but are associated with this role.

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience in administration, although this in not essential it is preferred.

Knowledge of IT systems is also preferred.
